Q: What are kick counts?
A: They're a way to track baby's movements after 28 weeks to be sure your pregnancy is progressing as expected.
Q: How do I count them?
- Check the time.
- Count each time you feel baby kick, jab, roll or flip.
- When you count 10 movements, check the time again.
10 movements in an hour or less is normal, though sometimes it will take longer. - Repeat twice a day!
Q: What if my baby is moving less than that?
A: Don't worry. Try:
- Changing position
- Eating a snack
- Drinking some fruit juice
Call your doctor or midwife if you're concerned.
